Heatlines are a conduit for transmitting heat energy across a distance made of conductive terugold coiling surrounded by teruceramic casing. They must be connected to a Heatline Distributor that manages the flow of heat to have any function, however.
When not connected to a Distributor, they have no active function and can be used cosmetically, if that's your thing.
With default settings they can transfer heat up to 36 blocks from its source. If a connection exceeds that distance, periodic puffs of steam will emerge from the very block it exceeds that maximum as a warning.
If you want something solid that also acts as heatline, you can turn regular heatline into Heatline Blocks.
