Collaboration Call: November 17, 2017

1. Updates

Sierra Leone

• Met with representatives from Statistics Sierra Leone, Ministry of Information and Right to Access Information Commission to discuss their reporting on the SDGs, and how this fits in with their current efforts. They are exploring several approaches, and were interested in learning more about the open source platforms.
• Followed up with links to the platforms, code, and training materials as they explore the open-source option

UNSD conference (Jan 2018)

• Focus is on country experiences with SDG national reporting platforms. CODE has a call with UNSD next week. The outputs from the conference will inform upcoming work with CODE’s SDG NRP initiative.

UNECA/AU NSOs conference (Dec 2017)

• Follow up call next week to determine if CODE presents at the conference. If CODE presents, it would be great to get feedback on the presentation

• Tanzania: to follow up on their developments and give feedback on prototype
• OAS: to discuss country FAQs and technical webinars

Recent NRP developments - UK

• Launched the prototype and getting positive feedback!
• Currently working on increasing accessibility, including making data available as tables as well as visualizations
• Looking to get user input on user requirements. At a later point it will be helpful to disseminate the platform for further feedback.
• Assessing how to best capture requirements / priorities for development, and recording other country requests as well. This could be done on the wikis. CODE will propose some options for the next call.

Recent NRP developments - CODE

• Updated READ.ME with guidance on forking, local development and translations. Feedback welcome.
• Created guidance on bulk uploading data in github, feedback welcome. Ann: the UK is looking into doing this also, including metadata as well.
• Made suggestion on wide vs. tidy issue to enable further functionalities - see github issue
