UK team
- Work is almost complete to split the GitHub repository to separate the code from the web presentation. Updated documentation should be available in the next week.
- As part of work with the UNECE Task Force on National Reporting Platforms, Ann and Kali have been drafting country case studies on the respective UK and US platforms. The UK case study is already published within the UNECE wiki page and the US case study has been drafted by Kali and is with Phil Ashlock for review.
- Kali, Ann and Matt have been corresponding with Ian Rutherford from UNSD re content for a short feature on the US-UK platform in the UNSD 2018 SDG global monitoring report (to be published 20 June)
- New developer Martin Bamford started today. Will be in post for a week then on extended leave until 8 August. UK team suggests having a longer dedicated session in mid/late August for US/UK/CODE to discuss development roadmap (already briefly discussed with Phil Ashlock)
- Claude from Rwanda visiting ONS this week – will be setting up their reporting platform next week and running through loading data.
- Head of the UNDP and UN Res Rep in India will be visiting the UK in June. A workshop is being arranged to cover UNDP’s dashboard work in India, DFID’s program with UN Statistics Division, and the data platform that ONS have been developing for the UK.
US team
- French translation technical updates are done but still need final review.
- Some of the metadata and indicator names may have changed so a process will be created to update the indicators and metadata, and the translations, once a year to keep up with these changes.
- Feedback on having multilingual capability
- Head of Poverty Statistics at the Census Bureau was excited to see Spanish capability with the site.
- Now that we have the French version, Larry will bring it up with the NSO on his next trip to Cote d’Ivoire.
CODE team
- Working on the proof of concept for tabular data packages for the US platform. Will reach out to Phil to get his input.
Country/subnational interest in cloning the NRP
- Started at the Cape Town WDF by GPSDD and UNSD
- GPSDD has contracted Tom Orell (from Dataready.org) part time to help manage the project. He is working with Luis Gonzalez Morales from UNSD.
- They are working on developing a non-technical Synthesis Report and a technical Interoperability Guide to be released at the next WDF and are seeking country representatives to help provide feedback on these drafts. Kali will circulate the latest drafts.
- Developer call will be set up with Phil, Ann, Brock, and Martin. UK team to follow up with availability.
- Group to email links of items mentioned in the meeting, especially background information about the Collaborative on SDG interoperability.
