IIIF Toolkit allows IIIF content to be imported into Omeka for presentation and editing while non-IIIF Omeka content can also be viewed and exported to IIIF compliant viewers (ex. Mirador) and associated tools (ex. annotations).
Mapping follows the conventions below:
IIIF | Omeka |
---|---|
Collection | Collection (with "IIIF Type" metadata set to "Collection") |
Manifest | Collection (with "IIIF Type" metadata set to "Manifest" or left at default) |
Canvas | Item (with "IIIF Type" metadata left at default) |
Annotation | Item (with item type set to "Annotation") |
Image | File |
You can edit Dublin Core elements as usual in Omeka, which are presented as metadata entries in IIIF. The following metadata elements translate to specific IIIF Presentation API values:
Dublin Core | IIIF Presentation API |
---|---|
Title | label |
Description | description |
Publisher | attribution |
Rights | license |
All others are mapped as IIIF Presentation API metadata values with names equal to their display label.
