Rooting

To finally enable root privileges on your device, you need to install the previously downloaded CWM-SuperSU-<version>.zip file, which will give you the su binary and a nice little app for security.

Replace the <version> placeholder with the version of the SuperSU zip.

TWRP

(replace with TWRP template)

  1. Tap Install.

  2. Select CWM-SuperSU-<version>.zip .

  3. Swipe to confirm flash.

  4. Once the zip is finished flashing, tap Reboot System.

ClockworkMod

(replace with CWM template)

  1. Select install zip from sdcard and then choose zip from sdcard

  2. Select CWM-SuperSU-<version>.zip .

  3. Tap Yes - Install CWM-SuperSU-<version>.zip.zip

  4. Once it finishes installing, tap Go Back

  5. Select reboot system now.

Postinstall

Once your phone is back on, open the app drawer and select the SuperSU app.

{{Note|A dialog box may pop up saying The SU binary needs to be updated. Continue?. Press continue and it will say Installation Success once it's finished.}}

You are now rooted, and if you wish you can install a custom rom!
