Usage in building automation

For the integration into building automation systems, there are sometimes restrictions in the number of characters.

Then, shortenings have to be made and the BUDO schema can only be used to a limited extent.

Shortenings

Free categories

If shorter keys are required for the integration of the key into an automation network, the greatest reduction potential is in the free categories in particular.

On the one hand, less free categories can be used, but also the level of detail can be changed.

Rooms/Buildings

Thus a room can always be defined as a "room" and not explicitly as an "office".

Units

Units can also be reduced under different conditions. The units can be defined in the BACnet, so they are still available for automatic evaluation. If other protocols are used, it must be checked how the units can be passed on.

Sensors

Since the measurement variable can be defined, the definition of sensors is not necessary in a shortened BUDO schema.

Functional type

The function type can be omitted for a shortening. Depending on the protocol used, it can be integrated (e.g. with BACnet).
