High level goals

Rundeck is focussed on being a simple workflow automation tool that via plugins allows you to integrate to a range of tools and sources of data.

Features

User feedback is the primary driver to prioritizing features. The following lists describe what we have in mind for future releases.

Plugins

• Plugin portal and browser
• Plugins that allow you to introduce new kinds of workflow steps.
• Plugins to integrate data sources about the resources in your environment [Done]
• Plugins to let you invoke remote actions across hosts over your chosen transport or execution mechanism [Done]

Workflow

• Data share between steps
• Configurable queue and semaphore
• Retry (w/ threshold), pre-, post-condition workflows
• Job iteration and step concurrency

Security

• Graphical administration of the access control policy

Packaging and installation

• Debian, Solaris, Windows packaging and service management
• Chef, Puppet support for installation

Build

• Simplified (and unified) build process and tooling
