  1. Review of new multi-cloud whitepaper for attendees

Discussion of JTC-1 draft multi-cloud specification

Multiple parts of this document can be used in the CDMI whitepaper, since the use cases are largely the same and we're dealing with cloud data management.

Terminology discussion:

  • Multi-cloud is an architecture that requires two or more clouds?
  • A multi-cloud deployment is an instance of a multi-cloud architecture that includes two or more clouds?
  1. Discussion re. multi-cloud standardization

Part of this document can be based around the subject matter in the JTC-1 draft.

We can also pull in some of the CDMI federation models presented at SDC.

Preliminary scope

  • Introduction of multi-cloud and multi-cloud use cases
  • Introduction of CDMI for multi-cloud
  • Discussion of each of the major use cases (proxying, fault tolerance, cost reduction, etc, etc)

Next step is to read through the JTC-1 draft and come back with comments.
