Proposals and ideas drafting and discussion.
This page is intended to posting conceptual work: drafts of possible system for discussion before actual coding on them begins.
Here are some possible categories to keep the ideas flow ordered. More can be added later, as needed.
So, we'd create a special Traditions/Blood Laws menu (I like "Traditions" better; and it works for oWoD and nWoD). And there in will have several options that cause at least vassal opinion modifiers for liege but perhaps also impact province blood, individual hunting, frenzy chance, etc...
We may also allow some revolt cause belli for the establishment of certain traditions
The first tradition: The Masquerade Thou shall not reveal thy true nature to those not of the Blood. Doing such shall renounce thy claims of Blood.
-
Masquearde (feed discretely)
-
No Masquerade (feed openly)
The second tradition: The Domain Thy domain is thine own concern. All others owe thee respect while in it. None may challenge thy word while in thy domain.
-
Prince's Domain: Feeding anywhere in the county requires the Prince's permission
-
Elder's Domain: permission of domain holder required to feed (Barons can grant feeding rights)
-
No Domains: Feed wherever
The third tradition: The Progeny Thou shall only Sire another with the permission of thine Elder. If thou createst another without thine Elder’s leave, both thou and thy Progeny shall be slain.
-
Prince's authorize embrace
-
Elders (barons) authorize embrace
-
Disallow Embrace
The fourth tradition: The Accounting Those thou create are thine own children. Until thy Progeny shall be Released, thou shall command them in all things. Their sins are thine to endure.
-
Accounting: Not sure how to implement this.... if a neonate's plot gets discovered, allow for neonate and their sire to be imprisoned as criminals?
-
No accounting
-
Domitor accounting: Vampires are also responsible for the actions of their ghouls
The fifth tradition: The Hospitality Honor one another’s domain. When thou comest to a foreign city, thou shall present thyself to the one who ruleth there. Without the word of acceptance, thou art nothing.
-
Presentation: Allows minor titles like Presented. If not presented, a vampire courtier can be imprisoned/banished with no tyranny
-
No Presentation
The sixth tradition: The Destruction Thou art forbidden to destroy another of thy kind. The right of destruction belongeth only to thine Elder. Only the Eldest among thee shall call the Blood Hunt.
-
Allow Destruction: Liege can execute vampire vassal prisoners
-
Disallow Destruction: Liege can NOT execute vampire vassal prisoners
Diablerie/The Amaranth
-
Allow Diablerie: negative Elder vassal opinion toward Liege; positive diabolist vassal opinion towards liege.
-
Disallow Diablerie: Diabolists can be imprisoned as criminals and executed with no tyranny; positive Elder vassal opinion towards Liege; negative diabolist vassal opinion towards liege

In Vampire: the Masquerade's first and second editions, the order is Masquerade, Domain, Progeny, Accounting, Hospitality, Destruction — resulting in people referring the "First Tradition" to mean the Masquerade.
In Vampire: The Dark Ages, the order is Legacy, Destruction, Progeny, Accounting, Domain, and Masquerade. Legacy refers to Cainites accepting their state as the dead, and replaces the Hospitality tradition (VTDA merges hospitality and domain).
In Vampire: the Requiem:
The First Tradition: The Masquerade
Accepted as the most important and basic tradition, this is the one least challenged, the Tradition that demands that vampirism must remain a secret. Before the dawn of the modern era, this Tradition was significantly less enforced, and in some cases, even scoffed at by the more haughty (and foolish) among the undead.Today, however, even the most jaded ancient knows just too well that the canaille is more than a match for them and that secrecy serves not only him, but all of the Damned.
The Second Tradition: The Progeny
This Tradition prohibits the creation of new vampires. As it can be seen, most Kindred are not as strict with this Tradition, causing them to violate it in order to create new childer. While few Kindred would deny that it is wrong (or at least complicated) to perpetuate the race of the Damned, many take issue with how the Tradition is enforced tonight. Many among the unbound (and a few members of formal covenants) believe that the Curse itself is enough to limit the numbers of new undead in the world, naturally and without need of politics or hierarchy
The Third Tradition: The Amaranth
Given the predatory nature of the Kindred, this Tradition is among the most violated. It is the commandment that prohibits Amaranth, the decouring of the soul of a Kindred
In Vampire: The Requiem/Requiem for Rome: The laws of the Camarilla extended from its three basic traditions. These traditions were:
Dominion Essentially, if a territory was apart of the civilized world, it was apt to be used by the Kindred. The Camarilla doled out territories to the vampires as areas where they were allowed to feed, and they just as easily could take away those rights if a vampire disrespected the Camarilla.
Destruction This tradition outlawed levying Final Death against any Camarilla Kindred without the consent of the Senex.
Amaranth The last tradition, this outlawed the act of diablerie against other vampires for fear of empowering the Camarilla's enemy, the Striges.

Strong council gives vassal opinion bonus to liege.
Factions might form demanding strong council.
Option to dissolve a strong council is regarded as tyrannical (vassal opinion malus)

Primogen Council (VTR): Made up of the most respected (prestige? piety?) members of each covenant in a domain,
Priscus Council (VTR): Informal leader of a clan in a city (eldest? prestige?)
Council can: Veto war of aggression? (Circle of the Crone primogen will oppose a Covenant War against Crones; Gangrel priscus will oppose a Clan War against Gangrel) Veto council appointment? Veto certain Traditions decisions? (Circle of the Crone primogen will oppose banning Circle of the Crone; Gangrel priscus will oppose banning Gangrel) See AGOT Volantis Triarch system for code ideas.
-Status: general draft (28/07/2014)
1: What we want to achieve: a way to model the feeding needs of vampires, the struggle for securing blood sources, a way to pose strategic decisions in prioritising blood uses and a system flexible enough te embed into others (like disciplines and such).
2: Subsystems needed/envisioned
2.1 Individual vitae pool representation - Status: removed due to malfunctioning due presumably to a base game issue.
Works via character variables. Placeholder gains of 1 point/month (will be removed).
2.2 Holding blood supply. - Status: general drafted proposal. The idea is as follows: define a group of buildings that will denote the population level of each holding (e.g.: small castle, medium town, etc.). This buildings are only provided through events, and set a variable that reflects the amount of blood provided (e.g. let say that medium town provides 3, which equates to the quantity for 3 vampires to be constantly fully fed). The holder can influentiate the holding population level (e.g. building a mill would increase the probability of a village growing in size). Random events like illnesses, and enemys attacking the cities can destroy buildings and have a probability of reduce population levels. Additionally, there could be buildings increasing the direct blood supply of the holder exclusively. (paradigmatical exapmles: blood cults, ghouled guild masters, etc).
2.3 Hunting system - status - general drafted proposal. The feeding is asumed to be automatic, spiced with random events. Vampires within a domain can hunt with or without permission of the Prince. This can be modelled this way: a demesne law "feeding laws" that dictates wheter is legal, in a domain to feed openly before mortals, feed freely if discretly, feed only if permission is give. If the later is enacted, permision is given through a minor title. Feeding illegally is considered reason for imprisonement. Feeding openly before mortals is considered execution reason if the laws forbids it.
- What we want to achieve: a way to depict the alimentary habits, uses and happenstances of kindred, without being repetitive or annoying.
2.Features required: Most likely, only random events. Status - random isolated ideas.
-You can't avoid draining a victim dry; moral and psychological consequences
-You are discovered feeding by a mortal: kill the mortal (with moral consequences) or don't with discovery consequences
-Feeding a sick person makes you feel ill
-Feeding a drunkard
-courtier ask for hunting rights
-ghoul ask for blood
-former ghould ask for blood
-ghoul seeks another domitor
-vassal formed a blood cult: allow, dismantle, or sabotage?
-you formed a blood cult: cultists demands your presence
-you formed a blood cult: cultists demands more blood
-you formed a blood cult: cult attracted attention of another vampire
-you formed a blood cult: cult attracted hunters
-you formed a blood cult: cult attracted demons
-competence due to bad hunting: mediate between two vassals
-competence due to bad hunting: confront a vassal
-competence due to bad hunting: competing vampires fights you!
-competence due to bad hunting: courtiers demands blood laws change
-abundance of blood: courtiers become careless
-abundance of blood: courtiers denands more flexible blood laws
-abundance of blood: encounter with another vampire. Go in peace
-abundance of blood: encounter with another vampire. Go hunting together?
-hunting frenzy: kill everyone around. Discovered by mortals
-hunting frenzy: kill everyone around. Discovered by other supernaturals
-hunting frenzy: kill everyone around. Undiscovered
