annotate
Although cell annotations can be uploaded at the creation of a study, later anyone viewing a created study can annotate and share cell groups (even if the study was not originally created by you). Try it for yourself!
2. Click on a study.
The study must have a cell ordination/scatter plot visualization to proceed. An example is shown below.
(by clicking on the plot again and using the lasso)
Continue selecting cells if interested, in this tutorial we stop at this point. When done, name the unselected group of cells.
Go to the initial explore tab, the easiest way to do this is to click on the "Summary" tab then the "Explore" tab. Select "view options" the name you gave the group of labels.
Select the new annotations you created.
These visualizations are private to you, only you may see them after logging in.
You can also create annotations after querying genes. Simply follow the above tutorial but on the resulting scatter plot after a gene is queried.
The annotations you create are private to you. Although they may be derived from studies you did not create, only you can see them. You do have the option of deleting and sharing those annotations. Let's show you how.
After logging in, select your name in the upper right-hand corner.
Now select "My Annotations"
You should now have a listing of your annotations, information about those annotations, and buttons allowing you to manage your annotations. The "delete" button will allow you to delete your annotation (but not the associated study), and edit will allow you to change label names and share the annotation group. If you are the owner of both the annotation and the study it came from, you will have an option to publish the annotations. This will add the annotations to the original study making them (public, private, or shared based on the permissions of the study).
To share an annotation, select "Share Study", then add the email of the person and the type of permission. View allows them to view the annotations, edit allows them to manage the annotation (eg. deleting, editing, sharing).
