  • AVR from French Aide visual au recule is for the rear camera activated by reverse gear
  • CAN (Controller Area Network) is an industrial bus employed, among other places, in vehicles
There are plenty of variations of this and typically you will find an LS CAN bus (CAN LS) where LS stands for low speed and an HS CAN bus (CAN HS) where HS stands for high speed. The speed refers to the available data bandwidth in both cases.
  • DiagBox is a software which allegedly can do all sorts of cool stuff via the OBD-II connector (haven't tried it)
  • Fakra connector
  • LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signal) is used to interface with the display (touchscreen)
  • MOST (Media Oriented Systems Transport) is a high-speed multimedia network technology optimized by the automotive industry
  • NAC seems to be the latest incarnation of PSAs infotainment system
  • OBD-II (On-board diagnostics) is a standard interface to access on-board diagnostics, as the name suggests
  • Quadlock also known as MOST connector (or as per Molex: MOST Frame Receptacle Housing)
  • RCE Reverse Code Engineering (i.e. pertaining to software specifically)
  • RDS (Radio Data System)
  • RE Reverse Engineering
  • SMEG the hardware along with firmware version 4.x
SMEG stands for French: Système Multimédia Entrée de Gamme
  • SMEG+I the hardware along with firmware version 5.x
  • SMEG+Iv2 (sometimes rendered SMEG+IV2 or SMEG+I V2) the hardware along with the firmware version 6.x
  • TMC (Traffic Message Channel), this is the technology that allows a car GPS without internet connectivity to give you updates about accidents and so on en route
  • TTS Text To Speech ... not interesting, but since this pops up everywhere it's good to know that it can be ignored most of the time
