Alerts
Alerts are a new feature in Release 3. These are messages that are automatically generated by the system and assigned to the owner of a Watched Target or Document. Alerts will be generated under various circumstances, such as
- No new Documents were found in the crawl after the expected publishing period of one of my Watched Target
- 300 or more new Documents were found in the crawl of one of my Watched Target
- A colleague, manager, or application has set a QA flag related to one of my Watched Target
- A duplicate or new version of one of my Documents was discovered in the crawl
When an Alert is generated, it will appear under the “Alert” tab on the User home page. The User can Alerts by Date in order to see the newest ones first.
Unread Alerts are listed in bold. Links within the Alert text will navigate the User to the Watched Target or Document that is related to the Alert.
In some cases (duplicate or near-duplicate Documents), a third special link will be displayed that leads to a page in which two Documents are displayed side-by-side for comparison.
The User can mark an Alert as “Read” by checking its selection box (in the final column) and clicking on the “Mark As Read” button. The User can delete an Alert by checking the box in the final column and clicking the “Delete” button. Alternatively, the User can select (or de-select) all Alerts in the list by checking the box in the column header, and delete all selected Alerts by clicking on the “Delete” button (or mark all selected Alerts as read by clicking on the “Mark As Read” button).
