Players

The player management helps you to map three-letter-highscore-acronyms to real names. The VPin Studio supports two different types of players:

Build-In Users

These users only exist on your VPin. If your VPin has no internet connection and you play with friends and family, you can create players for them here. The full name will then be shown in the player ranking and for newly created scores.

The Build-In Players section supports the editing and deleting of players. The creation dialog for new players also comes with an avatar generator. You can also upload your own avatar which will be cropped to the required dimensions after uploading.

The VPin Default Player checkbox is used for tables that log only anonymous highscores. For these tables, the name of the default player is used, e.g. for Discord notifications.

Discord Users

The more preferable solution is using a Discord server for your competitions and player mappings. The VPin Studio has a detailed documentation how to setup a Discord bot and players. Go to the preferences and read the section "Bot FAQ".

Alternatively also read the section Discord Integration.

Player Highscores

For both players (Build-In and Discord players) the VPin Studio tries to resolve existing highscores that are available for the initials of the selected players. It is important that the initials from Discord users and/or build-in players do not exist twice. If duplicates initials are found, the "Players" view will show a corresponding error message.

Player Ranking

The ranking of a player is defined by the amount of highscores and competitions won. For highscores, only the first three positions are taken into account. The amount of points given for every position can be changed in the preferences of the VPin Studio.
