Mania Tournaments
The VPin Mania services offer various features for your VPin and the VPin community. In order to use them, you have to register you cabinet via in the preferences of the VPin Studio. The services include:
- storing your highscores online
- global player rankings
- global table highscore rankings
- tables ranked by popularity
- online tournaments
This section describes the tournaments feature in detail.
After you have registered you cabinet in the preferences, you will find the additional buttons Tournaments and VPin Mania in the main navigation panel of the Studio:
Once you select Tournaments you will see that no default VPin Mania default player has been set up yet. This default player acts as an administrator of your cabinet. When you create a new tournament, your cabinet and default VPin Mania player will be shown as owner of a tournament.
To select the VPin Mania default player, go to the Players section and edit an existing player or create a new one. Select the checkbox VPin Default Player AND Tournament Player to register the player as a valid member for your own or foreign tournaments.
Once the player has been setup, you can join and create new tournament. Note that you can configure the default values for new competitions in the VPin Mania preferences. These include the following fields:
- Discord invite link
- link of your website
- tournament descriptions
- tournament dashboard (iScored)
The New Tournament dialog will be pre-filled with these values. When iScored is used, you can also fill up the tournament tables automatically using the VPS tags for iScored. Read the iScored integration page for more detail you check the YouTube channel for more details about this.
Note that you can create public and private tournaments:
- Public tournaments can be found via the tournament browser and every use can join these.
- Private tournaments can only be joined via tokens. The token of you tournament is visible in the details sidepanel. You can copy this id and share it with your friends e.g. on Discord so that they can join the tournament.
Right now the tournaments do not offer a summary of the results. You can only check the scoring by selecting the Highscores sidepanel for each table or check the results on the iScored game room.
The tournament browser allows you to search all public available tournaments. The server reveals the details of a tournament on selection and you can even join the owner's Discord server this way.
