This is the RC1 of 1.2. So here's what's new (from 1.1):

New Features

• Native build available (for Linux & Windows) using AvaloniaUI
• All new TV-Mode
• All new (more useful) Settings-app.

Changes

• New buttons have been added to the music widget to move between tracks.
• Plus-App has been removed due to lack of functionality.

1.2 (Preview 4)

New Features

• Weather-app widget & Application added (currently in Alpha)
• [TVMode] Added integration for Radio stations.

• TVMode is now out of beta.

• When switching from Radio to Local, the widget wouldn’t update.
• Increased overall stability in the MusicWidget.
• [TVMode] Now optimized for Radio.

1.2 (Preview 3)

This release is aimed to fix bugs & restore more functionality across SoundOS. This update is currently only installable manually. An OTA system is still underway with no timeline (yet).

Feel free to check back in tomorrow for "Preview 4".

• [TVMode & MusicWidget] Added ability to go to the next song or go back to the previous song.

• Fixed bug where the "statusbuttons" don't align.
• Fixed an issue where pressing the pause button the widget makes the program crash.

• Fixed an issue where the pause button in the widget doesn't sync.

Misc

• Wallpaper doesn't display black edges anymore.
• [TVMode] The backbutton now displays "Music Selection" instead of "Back".

1.2 (Preview 2)

This rewrite has been going well so far (although with some challenges). Here's what's been added.

New Features:

• TV Mode has been added (Beta)

Changes

• SongIndex now goes forward when the music has ended.
• Downgraded .NET version to 6.0 (from 7.0)
• Swapped CSCore for LibVLCSharp (Unmanaged)

Fixes

• Fixed a bug where (if paused), won't sync properly everywhere in the app.
• Playing the radio now no longer crashes the app.

1.2 (Preview 1)

This release is the biggest update ever in SoundOS' history:

What's new?

• Everything has been rewritten from the ground up (using Avalonia & Skia for graphics)
• Custom wallpaper support (Still in beta)
• Supports resolutions up to 480p.
• Play button placeholder widget has been changed to a pauze button.
• Timer of the song's progress has been added.

Misc. Changes

• Stability improvements for loading songs.
• The network bars are now showing you how stable the connection is with the server instead of the signal strength.
• Changed Audio engine from NAudio to CSCore.

Added more supported platforms:

• Linux (x86 & ARM64 support)
• Embedded Systems (Raspberry Pi 4 & 5 - Only tested Ubuntu!)
• Windows on ARM (natively)

WARNING DO NOTE:

Due to the complexity of the rewrite & a lot of changes in both the framework & SDK, some features might not be available as of this release. I'm working hard to bring those features back & in a better state than where i left them.

v1.0.1

This is a hotfix update that addresses a few of the major issues in SoundOS.

New features:

• Upgraded SDK to .NET 7

Bugs fixed:

• Home screen & Music Bootscreen now shows the correct song being played.
• Smooth scrolling now works properly.
• When in the home screen it now shows "Home screen" on top.

Changes:

• Music Boot now shows a black album cover instead of the placeholder one.
• Music boot now displayes "Loading..." instead of the instruction.
• Unused buttons has now also been removed.

v1.0 (Build 153)

A fully working prototype of PiSound is already here! This brings a lot of new features.

• A music fetcher (Via external Media)
• Ability to play and pause music.
• Seemless switching

Known issues:

• Background doesn't switch depending on the song.
• Lag at times
• Smooth scrolling might cause the app to crash
• Excessive RAM usage has been observed. I'll investigate this.
