How to start

This guide will walkthrough on how to start your own r2cloud base station.

Assemble

Go to the Bill-of-materials page and get the required components.

Optionally configure rotator.

Installation

Go to the README and check "Installation" section. It will help setup required software.

Supported SDR hardware

• rtl-sdr
• PlutoSDR
• rtl-sdr via sdr-server

Complete

Run everything together for couple of days and check results. Observations are scheduled automatically, you can select the required satellites from the list:

Share the data

Every decoded beacon or telemetry packet can be sent to the satellite operators. This will help them build better space technologies and expanse the humans in space. Sharing the data is really easy:

• Configure r2server integration in r2cloud
• Configure integrations within r2server

Advanced

If everything runs smoothly, then there is something else can be done:

• Contribute to r2cloud project. There are a lot of satellites needed by the community. You can help the project by writing corresponding decoders
• Check the issue tracker for any open issues and fix them.
• Test additional combination of hardware/software.
• Improve demodulators and the decoding rate
• Work with community and help them in our chat
