Membership Criteria

For Byld to be an active community, we expect members to actively participate in Byld events. This could be in form of participating in the events, organizing, mentoring, volunteering, or contributing to projects.

To improve transparency in what's expected, we've come up with a rough points criteria which we'll take these into consideration at the end of the year when deciding which members are removed. The minimum points may range from 8-12 (for a year).

We encourage you to participate in any events in any capacity you like.

  • Participating in internal Hackathons: 4 points for presented projects
  • Mentoring in internal Hackathons: 2 points
  • Participating in a Contest: 2 points. Includes Darwin Dev, Scripting/Automation Challenges we may have. Doesn't include hacktivity.
  • Volunteering for an event: 1 points
  • Organizing any Talks (as a speaker) / contest: 4 points
  • TechBlog participation: 2 points for selected entries, 1 point for submitting an entry
  • Projects: TBD. Includes winter of code mentors, Byld Internships, Contribution to HackTogether projects

  • Hosting a Hackathon for Byld: 4 points for OT/OC members, 1 for volunteers. Byldathons, HackIIITD, and any external hackathons Byld hosts or helps host.

We want to make teams from Byld and send people for external hackathons. Teams with >= 50% Byld members will get some travel reimbursement from the institute for the hackathons we float and teams we select

  • Need 1: Someone to keep track of upcoming hackathons and post form on the group
  • Need 2: Talk to the institute for budget allotment. Suryatej is on this.
