Update 2015-11-10-classifying-free-email-template-builders.md #1
base: gh-pages
Are you sure you want to change the base?
Conversation
Hey guys. I'm Gergely, Head of Marketing at Chamaileon.io. While the majority of the article is scratching the surface of untruth and you simply avoid some facts, write without proof, etc; my main problem with your article is that you forget to mention Mosaico-s real competitors which is undoubtedly unfair. My proposal is, that we can write an article version for you about this topic which is fair and benefits to everyone. Since Mosaico's target audience consists mainly of developers while we targeting designers, marketers, and developers who don't aim to develop anymore :D Let me know what you think ;) Cheers, Gergely
LOL.
So, just write here your "truth" and tell me which free email templates were available in 2015 (did you see the article date before ranting? ). For sure you have the right approach: when I find kind people telling my i lie I can't refuse to change my articles to make them happy. And you know what?
No, I won't add Chamaileon to the article simply because in 2015 when we wrote this article it didn't exists. If/when in future we'll decide to make an update to the article or a new article including ALL of the new players in the free/freemium email editors then there are a lot of them to add, and not only Chamaileon (Stripo, Topolio, Emailmonster, Grapejs, Postcard, Getemailbuilder, and many more that born in the last few years). If you have suggestions on a better classification for email editors in 2020, feel free to share. That said, you tell
but then in your changeset I can't see any "truth" fixed, any added proof, or anything like that. Did you forget? I'll happy to read them in comments, too and I'll happily update the article if there are 2015 untruths. I never had issues talking to competitors and even sharing facts about their tools: I wrote about BeeFree that is for sure a more known competitor than Chamaileon, and I put there EDMDesigner that is the only available product from "you" at the time. And you could make an article in your blog with a better comparison of free tools, so I can learn from that, too: I can't think you are here only to tell me I wrote lies and try to get some free visibility for your tool, so we must get some value from your collaboration spirit. About Chamaileon, I'm happy you listened to the critics I moved to EDMDesigner talking to Roland back in 2014 (we made Mosaico opensource because we don't mind sharing ideas and code, there's no better proof than this about our reasons): I liked EDMDesigner (did you talk with Roland about this, before writing here?), and I like Chamaileon even more (even if I'm not the target for the tool). And if you did that without listening to my critics, I'm happy anyway. Peace and love. |
Hi Bago,
Sorry for the emotion burst my brand monitoring tool said there is a fresh
update to your article dated to yesterday...
But I don't mind the rest I wrote because this way we are in touch. I'm a
bit hot-headed when I see poorly detailed information in articles or when I
spot someone misguide readers... and it's clear from my message that I
didn't asked Roland before I sent it because he told me only now you know
each other (:
Based on what he said and your kind words I can honestly write that "Nice
to meet you".
I'm read you answer twice and trying to make things a bit better now:
Here is an article that is our take on the drag-n-drop part of this email
editor market we are in:
https://chamaileon.io/resources/drag-and-drop-email-template-builder-comparison/
(Mosiaco
included, ofc)
True, in 2015 the market wasn't that crowded then nowadays. The only thin
that made me a bit upset in your 2015 article was the "final user" and
"*“advanced,
but non-developer, user”"*definitions. Maybe I'm too marketeer and see more
into it then it is but I tought it's some kind of persuasing trick to
dissuade people using drag-n-drop methods instead of code...
I'm sorry to hear that Roland didn't let you try the beta of Chamaileon. I
wasn't around that time but I understand his fears.
Actually, Chamaileon went into a direction that is far from Mosiaco
currently - we cover different scenarios. Actually we have a new feature
that enable you to edit an email design collaboratively with you colleagues
in real-time. (like google docs) Do you want to try it with someone? It's a
cool experience for us in email industry (:
Beyond my apologies, my offer still here:
If you open to the discussion we can write a version of the above linked
2019 edition email builder comparison to Mosaico's website. Actually we can
write an even newer version covering 2020 ;)
What do you think?
*Looking forward to hearing from you,*

1. Chamaileon didn't exists when I wrote the article
2. When one of my collaborators asked Chamaileon to access the beta so
to be able to classify it you answered that you couldn't give access to
your beta product to a "competitor", LOL, and now you would like to add
your tool to my article: isn't this funny? really ironic.
