Group 47 - Global Patterns and Correlates of Happiness: Exploring Regional Variations and Identifying Key Intervention Areas
We are interested in examining the World Happiness Report 2015–2022 dataset to learn more about the critical elements that influence happiness levels and to pinpoint areas that may use some help in promoting fair and long-lasting well–being results. More specifically, we want to investigate the association between happiness levels and economic variables like GDP per capita, social support, and life expectancy, as well as other demographic variables like age, gender, and educational attainment.
Identifying any notable geographical variations in happiness levels and associated variables is another area of study, as is investigating how these variations could affect general levels of happiness and life satisfaction. Also, we intend to look at the relationships between many elements that affect overall happiness, such as wealth, social support, freedom, altruism, and corruption, as well as pinpoint critical areas for action to enhance well-being results.
With this dataset, we have the opportunity to create a user-facing dashboard that will enable users to explore various features and variables as well as spot patterns and trends in the data.
The dataset was sourced from the World Happiness Report 2015-2022, which is an annual report published by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network. The report contains data on happiness levels and related factors for countries around the world, and it is produced in collaboration with various national governments, academic institutions, and other organizations
The World Happiness Report 2015-2022 dataset contains information on happiness levels and related factors for 153 countries around the world. The dataset includes variables such as the country name, regional indicator, happiness score, Logged GDP per capita, social support, and healthy life expectancy (healthy life expectancy at birth in the country). These features provide insights into the key factors that contribute to happiness levels and how they vary across different regions of the world.
The data spans a time period from the 2015s to 2022. It is clear that the data reflects a short-time view of happiness trends and conditions in several countries.
The purpose of the World Happiness Report 2015-2022 dataset is to provide a comprehensive overview of happiness levels and related factors for countries around the world and to promote the use of data-driven policy-making to improve well-being outcomes for individuals and communities. The dataset is intended to serve as a resource for researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to understand the key factors that contribute to happiness levels.
How was your data collected? Was it a human collecting the data? Historical records digitized? Server logs?
The World Happiness Report 2015-2022 dataset was collected primarily through the Gallup World Poll survey, along with data from other sources such as the World Values Survey, World Bank, and World Health Organization. The data was likely collected and analyzed by both humans and machines.
