# 1.4 集群版本升级

对于线上环境来说，集群的版本升级不是一件容易和舒服的事情。 在升级过程中造成的服务停用都可能会影响全年的 SLA，进而影响整个业务的可靠性和可用性。
在 TiDB 里，对于操作用户集群版本的升级也是小心谨慎的，这章的重点是介绍如何在
* 物理机器/云化实例上部署的 TiDB 集群上进行整个集群的版本升级
* 基于 Kubernetes 部署的 TiDB-Operator 上进行整个集群版本升级
