slower more
= slomore
A custom pager that outputs lines with a delay, allowing control over pacing.
Slomore is a pager (like more
, or less
) that slows down screen output.
This is useful when making tutorials where command line tools spew lots of output that scrolls by too fast. If you're capturing the output for use in a video (or gif) without slomore
, your video recorder may 'miss' frames making the output appear 'jumpy'.
Slomore is written in Rust. Binary builds are available with tagged releases.
Compile using cargo
.
git clone https://github.com/popey/slomore
cd slomore
cargo build --release
Copy the binary to your $PATH
.
cp target/release/slomore /usr/local/bin
