"description": "
Sharpedo is able to become a usable special sweeper with the combination of Endure + Salac Berry and its decent base Special Attack and Speed stats while making use of Rough Skin to punish contact move users by putting them in range of its strong attacks. However, Sharpedo faces stiff competition from other Water-type sweepers such as Feraligatr, Swords Dance Tentacruel, and Rain Dance sweepers like Omastar and Gorebyss, as well as other Salac Berry sweepers like Scyther. Sharpedo also has a tendency to be walled by Kangaskhan, Tentacruel, Ampharos, and Blastoise due to its move choices, and it struggles to break bulkier Pokemon without heavy chip damage or Spikes and usually gets OHKOed in return because of its frailty, making it a difficult Pokemon to justify using. Rough Skin plays a big part in Sharpedo's niche in the tier, as it punishes physical attackers like Kangaskhan and Scyther by chipping them into range of its moves. Hydro Pump functions as Sharpedo's explosive STAB option, able to OHKO Solrock and Arcanine and smashing the likes of Omastar and Granbull while also being a generally powerful move to spam. Ice Beam is solid coverage for Grass-types like Vileplume and Cradily while also giving Sharpedo a more consistent way to OHKO Gligar and chunk Scyther. Crunch allows Sharpedo to handle Ghost-types such as Haunter and Misdreavus as well as beat down opposing Water-types that may wall it, such as Slowking.

As an offensive sweeper, Sharpedo greatly appreciates any form of support it can get, such as Spikes from the likes of Omastar, Qwilfish, and Glalie as all of Sharpedo's main checks dislike Spikes damage, therefore making it easier for Sharpedo to break through them, and screens from Electrode or Solrock to aid in its sweeping potential. Electrode, Solrock, and Glalie also help Sharpedo out tremendously thanks to Explosion, being able to lure in bulky Water- and Electric-types Sharpedo can struggle to deal with such as Lanturn, Ampharos, Tentacruel, and Walrein. Teammates that can switch into the aforementioned Electric-types, such as Kangaskhan, Ampharos, and Nidoqueen work well with Sharpedo, as they can also help whittle down its checks for it to sweep late-game. Toxic support from teammates such as Omastar, Arcanine, and Tentacruel helps Sharpedo in its sweeping possibilities by giving it the chance to 2HKO opponents much more safely with the additional chip damage provided. Paralysis spreaders like Stun Spore Vileplume and Thunder Wave Misdreavus can also help Sharpedo get into a position to sweep, as well as allowing it to outspeed Scyther and Tentacruel without eating its Salac Berry. Thief users, such as Electabuzz and Arcanine, also are greatly appreciated, as they are able to remove Leftovers from defensive opponents that would otherwise rely on them to keep Sharpedo in check.
"

"Camerupt": {
"overview": "
Camerupt is an oft overlooked Pokemon, capable of stopping some of both the UU metagame's biggest threats. The RestTalk set is probably the most effective set to use in UU, where status runs wild and very few Pokemon can safely switch in. The Choice Band set's effectiveness is dependent almost solely on prediction. The tank set's strength lies in supporting the team. The Pokemon that Camerupt draws in are fantastic, ones that usually are crucial in walling other dangerous Pokemon, and if you use Camerupt to get rid of them you can go for a sweep.
",

"description": "
Sludge Wave is Nidoking's strongest STAB move, hitting Pokemon like Hatterene, Tangrowth, and Primarina super effectively, as well as discouraging Rotom-W and Rotom-H from switching in freely. Earth Power slams Steel- and Poison-types such as Jirachi, Cobalion, and Nihilego. Fire Blast roasts Celesteela, Skarmory, and Scizor. It also OHKOes Amoonguss after Stealth Rock. Thunderbolt allows Nidoking to nail Water- and Flying-types like Slowking, Gyarados, and Mandibuzz. Alternatively, Substitute makes Nidoking much less prediction reliant, giving it free turns against foes that it forces out like Nihilego and Tangrowth. Ice Beam heavily pressures Hippowdon and OHKOes Salamence and Noivern, but these Pokemon get pressured by Nidoking's STAB attacks anyway. A Modest nature should be run to increase Nidoking's damage output against threats like Slowking and Mandibuzz, since it doesn't miss out on any notable Speed benchmarks. Life Orb and Sheer Force pair together to negate the health loss of Life Orb while giving an effective 70% power boost, which is a big factor behind Nidoking's power.

Nidoking fits best on offensive teams that are able to bring it in many times to wallbreak and tear through defensive Pokemon like Amoonguss and Skarmory. As a result, pivots such as Rotom-W, Zarude, and Moltres make for good partners. Zarude forces out Swampert and Hippowdon while Rotom-W lures in Tangrowth for Nidoking and OHKOes Krookodile. Chansey is also a great partner for Nidoking, providing pivot support while beating its common checks like Rotom-W and Hydreigon. Switch-ins to Psychic-, Ground-, and Water-type attacks like Jirachi, Tangrowth, and Amoonguss can be paired with Nidoking on bulkier teams. Jirachi also provides entry hazard support, allowing Nidoking to reliably KO Celesteela, and Healing Wish support to let it wallbreak even more. Tangrowth and Amoonguss are also able to handle Electric-types in the tier much better than Nidoking and can pivot into the likes of Zygarde-10% and Keldeo excellently. Late-game cleaners like Scizor and Cobalion are great teammates to break through Chansey, which Nidoking struggles against. Sticky Web support from Ribombee offsets Nidoking's average Speed tier, allowing it to outspeed and OHKO threats like Tentacruel, Excadrill, and Lycanroc-D.
"

"ou": {
"overview": "
Nidoking is equipped with an incredible STAB combination that is amplified by its ability Sheer Force and a Life Orb, allowing it to operate as a powerful special wallbreaker despite its mediocre base Special Attack. In addition, it boasts phenomenal coverage options such as Ice Beam, Flamethrower, and Thunderbolt that allow it to reliably pressure switch-ins to its STAB attacks such as Corviknight, Ferrothorn, Slowking, and Landorus-T. Nidoking's defensive typing is solid as well, letting it take advantage of Pokemon like Tapu Koko and Clefable for wallbreaking opportunities as well as providing it with a handy Toxic and Thunder Wave immunity. However, its bulk and Speed tier leave much to be desired. It is very prone to being revenge killed by faster threats like offensive Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Tapu Lele and struggles to find natural wallbreaking opportunities due to its frailty, relying on pivoting allies that can switch it in safely. Despite its good defensive typing, Nidoking's fragility also makes it difficult to utilize consistently, especially if it sustains prior chip damage. On top of this, Nidoking is reliant on its item to do damage due to its mediocre Special Attack, making it susceptible to Knock Off. This can be particularly troublesome against Clefable, which Nidoking can otherwise take advantage of. Special walls such as Blissey and Slowking are problematic as well, having no qualms switching into most of its attacks and gaining momentum on its escape with Teleport.
",

"Tentacruel": {
"overview": "
With incredible Special Defense, an excellent defensive typing that allows it to deal with threats like Primarina, Keldeo, and Celesteela, and the distinction of being one of the only viable Rapid Spin users in the tier, Tentacruel is a solid option for many balance and bulky offense teams. Access to Knock Off alongside Scald and Sludge Bomb make Tentacruel nearly impossible to switch into, threatening foes like Amoonguss with a burn or Slowking with a Sludge Bomb poison. Additionally, it matches up well against common entry hazard setters like Cobalion and Skarmory. Its base 100 Speed lets it outrun and deal heavy damage to offensive threats like Excadrill and Mamoswine. While its Special Defense is excellent, its Defense and HP are fairly poor, making it difficult for Tentacruel to switch into strong physical attackers like Cobalion and Scizor. This is further worsened by Tentacruel's mediocre attacking stats making it difficult to acquire KOs and leaving it overly reliant on status, which worsen its matchup against foes like Azelf, Galarian Slowbro, and Salamence. These weaknesses also put Tentacruel at a disadvantage against other common entry hazard setters like Hippowdon, Nidoqueen, and Excadrill, which can handle Scald, and make it difficult to remove entry hazards. Tentacruel's lack of recovery severly hinders its ability to check foes it normally would with its typing like Cobalion, Scizor, and even Keldeo, causing other Water-types like Slowking and Primarina to be preffered over it.
",
