FAQ for releases before v0.4.0

Note - the information below only applies to releases of the uploader before version 0.4.0

When registering the CNL 2.4 stick, I get a username or password error, even though I'm sure they're correct

Unfortunately, when an error occurs on the CareLink website, the server does not distinguish between a login error and an internal server error.

Also this error has been seen when a new CNL 2.4 stick is being used, i.e. one that either has not been paired with the pump, or has not been used for an upload to the CareLink website. Check that you have followed all the steps in 600 Series pump and CNL 2.4 preparation

If the problem persists, please make sure you can log into the European CareLink website via a browser on your device before reporting a new issue.

After registering the CNL 2.4 I don't get a username/password error, but there are no Registered Devices in the list either

This occurs when the CNL 2.4 USB stick has not been detected by the Android device

  • Quit the app and unplug and re-plug the CNL 2.4. You should see a pop-up asking to give the app access to the USB (check the "remember" flag)
  • Launch the app and press "Get Now". You should get a message that you can't use the USB stick without registering it
  • After registering you should see a "Serial Number: xxxxxxx" under "Registered Devices" with a cross next to it

If this still doesn't work, there might be a problem with your USB cable (can you swap it?), or your device may not support USB OTG. Try the USB OTG troubleshooter on the Prerequisites page

Unfortunately there is sometimes misleading information about whether a particular Android device supports USB OTG, and there have been cases where different versions of Android on the same device have given different results.

Please carefully research before updating your Android version as updates cannot usually be reversed.

When I click Get now the status shows Connecting to Contour Next Link , then Connected... but then it says Timeout communicating with Contour Next Link

It's essential that the CNL 2.4 has been used to upload pump data to the CareLink website. This may catch you out if you have been swapping CNL 2.4s.

It's also essential that the current pump was the last pump used to upload data to the CareLink website. This may catch you out if you have received a replacement pump.

Please check that you have followed all the steps in 600 Series pump and CNL 2.4 preparation
