Before this project got started, a couple of independent implementations were found on crates.io.

They are as following:

rustracing + rustracing_jaeger by sile https://github.com/sile/rustracing
opentracingrust by stefano-pogliani https://github.com/stefano-pogliani/opentracingrust
opentracing by chris jones https://github.com/lambdastackio/opentracing

Interested developers should check them out, since its likely that this project took inspiration from some of them, depending on the context.
