Amsterdam Museum

The dataset of the Amsterdam Museum consists of metadata and images from the collection of the city of Amsterdam.

This dataset is already in the master branch and production API. For more information and the implemented Mapping: http://docs.opencultuurdata.nl/user/datasets.html

The dataset is available in three different ways: with the Adlib API that produces XML data via the OAI/PMH protocol and as Linked Open Dataset. See below for details of the various accesses.

All object descriptions (metadata) are available under CC0 and images (content) are Public Domain. This means that the data may be copied, modified, distributed and executed without the permission of the Amsterdam Museum. The museum appreciates it to be referred to as the source of information. The source attribution is: Amsterdam Museum.

Adlib API

http://amdata.adlibsoft.com/wwwopac.ashx

The database can be searched using the Adlib API with the result of XML files. The data objects are more extensive than those that are harvested using the OAI-PMH.

There is a separate website with documentation on the Adlib API: http://api.adlibsoft.com/site/

Examples of searches are: http://amdata.adlibsoft.com/wwwopac.ashx?database=AMcollect&search=creator=Helst*&=XMLTypegrouped

The library database is open for reuse and is called AMlibrary:

http://amdata.adlibsoft.com/wwwopac.ashx?database=AMlibrary&search=title=Helst*&=XMLType=grouped

In the collection database (AMcollect) the following fields are available:

field description
priref The priref is the recordnummer of the object and the unique identifier in the database
object_number Every object has a unique objectnumber
title The title of the object. An object can have multiple titles.
creator The maker(s) of the object.
Person names are adopted like ëfirst name, last name'
production.date.start The start date of the manufacture.
production.date.end The end date of the manufacture. If this is the same as the start date, it involves an exact date.
object_name Keyword that describes the type of object
object_category The sub-collection of which the object is part of.
description Description of the object.
content.motif.general Keywords with which the image is being described.

dimension Information about the dimensions of the object
related_object.reference A link to the objectnumber of a different object within the dataset
acquisition.date The date of the acquisition of the object
acquisition.method The way the object has ended up in the collection.
AHMteksten Texts about the object. These can be multiple texts, in Dutch as well as English.
documentation Information of the publication in which the object is mentioned. The title of the publication is a link tot the library database (AMlibrary).
reproduction Link to the image of the object.

replace '....\dat\collectie\images' in the object records with the above (and replace the slashes)

OAI-PMH

http://ahm.adlibsoft.com/oaix/oai.ashx

Via the OAI-PMH protocol, the entire collection can be queried as XML file. http://ahm.adlibsoft.com/oaix/oai.ashx?verb=ListRecords&metaDataPrefix=oai_dc

The following information is available according to Dublin Core:
