@bryan-cox: This pull request references Jira Issue OCPBUGS-44861, which is invalid:

  • expected dependent Jira Issue OCPBUGS-44627 to be in one of the following states: VERIFIED, RELEASE PENDING, CLOSED (ERRATA), CLOSED (CURRENT RELEASE), CLOSED (DONE), CLOSED (DONE-ERRATA), but it is ON_QA instead

Comment /jira refresh to re-evaluate validity if changes to the Jira bug are made, or edit the title of this pull request to link to a different bug.

The bug has been updated to refer to the pull request using the external bug tracker.

In response to this:

Manual backport of #1151

@bryan-cox if this is a draft, can you please mark it as such? If not, can you fix the commits?

@candita -Yes, sorry! I'm not sure how that got in there.

Use Client Certificate Authentication for ARO HCP deployments.
HyperShift will pass the needed environment variables for this
authentication method: ARO_HCP_MI_CLIENT_ID, ARO_HCP_TENANT_ID, and
ARO_HCP_CLIENT_CERTIFICATE_PATH.

Could we also cherry-pick #1144 before you cherry-pick #1151 as well to avoid this merge conflict and also for maintaining the Git commit history?
