Getting started

This organization is meant for TU Eindhoven students working on machine learning projects.

Creating your repo

There are a few options here. For all of these, the first step is

  • Become a member of this GitHub organization. Contact Joaquin Vanschoren with your GitHub account name to add you.

Create a new repo

Easiest option if you haven't started yet or you have your code locally only

  • On the main organization page, click the green button with 'New'.
  • Follow the instructions to link it to a local folder and push your code.

Transfer your repo

If you have created your own GitHub repo already on your personal GitHub account, you can transfer it to this organization. You will keep all editing/admin privileges. This just moves it from your personal account to the organization.

  • Go to your GitHub repo, open Settings
  • Under 'Danger Zone', click Transfer ownership to new organization.
  • Indicate this organization and start the transfer

Create a fork

If you prefer to keep maintaining your code after the thesis, you can also fork your existing repo to this organization.

  • Go to your GitHub repo, click the Fork button
  • Indicate this organization and start the fork
  • Ideally, set up a synchronization job to keep the fork up to date

Synchronizing forks

You can use this workflow

In short, click the Actions tab, then New Workflow, and then set up a workflow yourself. Then, copy in the workflow below, which will synchronize your code every night. Click Start commit to commit. That's it. You can test by clicking the Actions tab, then Synchonize fork, then Run workflow.

    # Step 2: run this sync action - specify the upstream repo, upstream branch to sync with, and target sync branch
