Welcome to the PureScript Conf 2018 home page!

PureScript Conf 2018 is a community-run mini-conference co-located with LambdaConf 2018. LambdaConf donates the space for hosting PureScript Conf, but the two events are not connected in any way.

Details

PureScript Conf 2018 is a one-day, single-track conference in Boulder, Colorado, held at the University of Colorado Boulder, on June 6th, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the Wolf Law Building.

Schedule

Speakers can choose to use a 30-minute slot or a 60-minute slot. 30-minute talks will scheduled from 9:30am - noon, and 60-minute talks from 1pm - 5pm.

  • 8:30 AM — Coffee & introductions

  • 9:30 AM — The Road To Ocelot, by Forest Toney

  • 10:30 AM — Interactive Testing w/Flare and Halogen, by Jonathan Curran

    • (this is ~10-15 minutes, happy to share this slot with another short talk)
  • 11:00 AM — Some Context for Pure FP Concepts and Style, a Retrospective, by Alex Berg.

  • 11:30 AM — TEA and SPA, a Retrospective, by Alex Berg.

  • 12:00 PM — Pizza lunch

  • 1:00 PM — Deconstructing a Lens: A (mostly) straightforward step through the inner workings of a profunctor lens, by Chris Cornwell

  • 2:00 PM — Workshop: TDD Code Katas in PureScript by Zachary Overhulser. Have PureScript installed to participate. (Zachary, did you want more than 1 hour? If so, just take the following slot as well.)

  • 3:00 PM — That Warm and Fuzzy Feeling, by Dave Zuch

  • 4:00 PM — PureScript Open Hackathon

  • 5:00 PM — Conference ends

Registration

Attendees are encouraged (but not required) to pay for a $50 ticket, which helps cover the costs of the free lunch and any stickers produced for the conference.

CFP

The CFP for PureScript Conf has always been very simple: just add your talk to the lineup!

Be sure to provide a title and a short description, as well as information on any prerequisites (if it's a workshop, should people have PureScript installed?).

Note: For those not already going to LambdaConf 2018, LambdaConf is donating tickets to any speakers of PureScript Conf 2018. Alternately, LambdaConf will cover up to 2 days of lodging for any PureScript Conf speaker.
