Proposal DM Workshop

This is an online workshop with the aim of educating people who might want to contribute to the Proposal Data Model.

The workshop is to be held on Zoom (details to follow) on 23 Feb 2022 09:00-11:00 UTC

Agenda

  • Motivation behind the model, and current status.
    • model scope
    • model design
  • Tutorial on tools used to create and test the model.
    • introduction to VO-DML
    • introduction to VODSL
    • code generation and testing with Gradle
    • Using GitHub to contribute
      • creating issues
      • forking and PRs
  • Brainstorming new ideas for the model.
    • everyone to contribute - some ideas
      • source specifics - eg for PSRs, knowing period etc. - is this necessary at this stage?
      • instrument -> telescope -> backend model sufficient? instrument "modes"?
      • scoring systems
      • resource availability? Does time deserve its own type?
      • constraints model sufficient? Weather?
