CataRT-MuBu is a collection of Max patches for corpus-based concatenative synthesis, audio mosaicing, descriptor analysis, transcription, and composition.
CataRT is a technology devoted to structuring sound grains obtained from large sound data bases of any kind according to sound characteristics automatically analyzed and chosen by the user. Thus, sound databases and archives may be explored quickly and intuitively for use in the areas of musical composition, sound design, live performance and improvisation.
- Max (at least version 7)
- Mubu package installed from Max package manager, or Forum
- Optional external controller packages for some main patches: sensel, blocks packages from Max package manager (if you don't use these controllers you can ignore the missing externals)
- Optional for some tutorials: bach, cage packages from Max package manager
- Optional for some advanced examples: spat5 package from Max package manager or Forum
From the Package Manager, just click install, or, when downloaded from the Ircam Forum, put the catart-mubu
directory into your Documents/Max8/Packages
folder or anywhere in Max's search path.
- The overview patch shows all main patches, advanced examples, tutorials, and abstractions.
- The patch catart-mubu-simple.maxpat and other patches in the examples folder have complete standard catart functionalities.
- The tutorial patches in folder patchers/tutorials give a step-by-step introduction to the building blocks and functions of catart-mubu.
