fix: WIP: multi-range download progress

This is just Draft/WIP PR to demonstrate the possible solution to this issue #8659

Code as it is in this PR does not work correctly and produces for example 130% in the progress

I spend some time on this, and I had to give it up. I lack the knowledge to complete this PR properly. :(
