Shape Shift
SS is an Asset exchange. Think of it like going to the post office and getting some GBP changed into some EUR.
By using SS and our supported Institute API's we can easily let a user transfer and exchange their assets.
It's important to distinguish the difference between these two actions:
- Currency stays the same (e.g. USD to USD, ETH to ETH, BTC to BTC)
- Does not use SS
- We would use the Institutes API to make the transfer (e.g. https://docs.gdax.com/#crypto)
- Currency changes (e.g. USD to GBP, ETH to BTC)
- Uses SS to perform the exchange
- We would use the Institutes API to make the transfer to SS
- User chooses to move 10 ETH into their BTC wallet
- Balance displays the conversion rate and fees from SS
- User accepts
- Balance creates a transaction with SS
- SS gives Balance an address to send the ETH to
- Balance makes an API request to the Institution (e.g. Coinbase) to transfer ETH to the address SS provided
- Once received and confirmed SS then send BTC to the users wallet
SS is only crypto to crypto.
I'm still doing research about how is the best way we can handle this.
Coinbase has an API that would allow the user to exchange GBP in their Coinbase GBP account into any of their Coinbase crypto wallets
SS has an affiliate program:
For those integrators, we provide an affiliate payout/commission program where we send you .25% each month based on the total amount of volume in bitcoin your integration provides.
For example, if during the entire month your integration provides 25 BTC worth of volume, we would send you .0625 BTC for your payout. (25 x .0025= .0625 BTC).
To become an affiliate you firstly need to be approved by SS. Contact them here
In terms of revenue, they offer the same as SS 0.25% of the total amount exchanged.
However, where they differ is that they support USD and EUR to Crypto.
