Are there any pre-requisites to join ALiAS?

I know ____ language, can I join ALiAS?

I don't know anything in the Computer Science field, can I join ALiAS?

Yes, definitely you can join us! No one judges anyone based on their skillset here. You just need to have the desire to learn and share your learning with others!

Do you provide certificates?

We don't learn anything merely for the certificates nor they are the driving force to make us do something. AliAS members are here to learn on their own will which shall someday be valued more than any cerification. Though, we do not support distribution of certificates, there can be events organised along with other organsations who give out certificates on their behalf. In such cases, we might not prevent them from certificate distribution. Yet, we still adhere to our belief system.

If not certificates, then what alternative can be used to prove our knowledge in the desired subject or technology?

ALiAS works on the belief that one should work on Open SOurce projects as they help in gaining exposure and experience. Open source projects also allow the user to make their source code publically available allowing the employers to see your code first hand and not guess your opportunity via your certificates only.

Being a computer science student

Why write so many lines of code when you can get anything done by few mouse clicks?

This statement would sound valid if you were to use your system just to reach your end goal and your field was no where related to CSE. Being a computer science enthusiast, you have chosen to develop those ‘clickable features’ for users we wish to ease the work of, rather than yourself and consequently not learning anything new.

By not avoiding to write the numerous lines of code of something already created there for you, you help yourself teach the fundamentals to something you need to create that might be an extension to what you have been using.
