I have tweaked the formatting to show either the current configuration (day month) but also a (day month year) option.
Done via the config.toml file.
I have also updated the exampleSite to reflect the change, I hope this is ok.
In terms of documenting this, I rather suggest you update the documentation if you choose to use this update.
