Analytics in Total RP 3

Who is concerned?

Analytics are strictly opt-in. If you do not want to share anything at all, you can ignore this entire article and not have to worry about it.

Three conditions must be met for analytics to be enabled:

• You are using the Wago Addons client (it doesn't have to be used to download the addon, just needs to be launched on a regular basis).
• You have enabled "Help addon developers" in the settings of the Wago client.
• You have the Wago Analytics addon enabled in-game.

If any of these conditions isn't met, no analytics are gathered. If all conditions are met, you may still disable analytics in the Total RP 3 settings (the setting won't appear if conditions aren't met in the first place).

What information is being collected?

We will never collect content you filled in your profile, your notes, or your Extended creations.

As of 2.5.0, here is the list of information collected:

• Number of characters that you've used the addon on.
• Number of player profiles that you've created.
• Number of companion profiles that you've created.
• Number of other player characters that you've seen using a roleplay addon.
• Number of player profiles you've received from other players.
• Number of companion profiles you've received from other players.
• Whether or not you've reconfigured the addon locale setting to be different than that of the game client.

You can also use /trp3 statistics in-game to see the information collected.

Why?

Right now, purely as an experiment, as we expect very few people will satisfy the requirements and would like to know for sure.

Ideally, analytics could help us find out if some settings are not used and could be removed, or if we are mistaken on how much some features are used, but this would rely on enough people enabling them to be significative.
