Q: What is DisPhone?
A: A browser (WebRTC) softphone with Discord* integration.
Q: Why Use DisPhone?
A: Cross Platform; Fancy UI; Convenient Discord Dialling
Q: Why Not Use DisPhone?
A: Incompatible With Standard SIP; No Native App; No Click To Dial
Q: Can I use DisPhone?
A: Only if you have access to a PBX or the ability to build one yourself.
Q: What do you mean by Discord integration?
A: DisPhone has a custom built Discord client that allows bot & user accounts to be controlled via the browser.
Q: Can I install DisPhone?
A: Not yet, however PWA support is planned. In the mean time you can use an extension like Progressive Web Apps for Firefox to achieve a similar experience.
Q: What motivated the initial development of DisPhone?
A: The desire to replace comparably complex setups for dialling in Discord voice chat. Such setups typically utilise a second Discord instance along with software like Voicemeeter, Virtual Audio Cables and sometimes a Virtual Machine.
