AutoTabGroup is a Chrome Extension designed to streamline and enhance your browsing experience by automatically grouping and organizing tabs from the same website under a single, identifiable tab group. This extension not only simplifies tab management but also color-codes each group according to the primary theme color of the website, making it easier to navigate through your browser's tabs visually.
- Automatic Tab Grouping: Automatically groups all tabs from the same domain under a single tab group.
- Dynamic Naming: Names each tab group based on the domain of the website for easy identification.
- Color Coding: Assigns colors to tab groups that match the primary color of the website, extracted from fevicon, facilitating a more intuitive and visually appealing tab management experience.
To install AutoTabGroup, follow these steps:
- Clone this repository to your local machine:
https://github.com/Praveenkumar5048/AutoTabGroup.git - Open Google Chrome and navigate to chrome extensions.
- Enable Developer Mode by ticking the checkbox in the upper-right corner.
- Click on "Load unpacked" and select the directory where you cloned the repository.
- The extension should now be installed and will appear in your extensions list.
Once installed, AutoTabGroup works automatically. Whenever you open a new tab, the extension will check if other tabs from the same domain are already open and group them together. Each group will be labeled and color-coded according to the website's theme color, no further action is required from the user.
