"I've spent so much time training reinforcement learning agents that I've started to see life as a Markov Decision Process. The other day, I tried to calculate the Q-value of doing my laundry versus ordering takeout. Turns out, unlike RL agents, humans can't just reset the environment when things go wrong. Now I'm stuck in a suboptimal policy, wondering if there's a better state-action pair I'll never discover. At least my algorithms converge faster than my life decisions – most days, anyway. And don't even get me started on trying to model my social network as a graph – apparently, people don't appreciate being referred to as 'nodes' with 'edge weights'."
