To sum it up, let's not make it /replace/ the gygax persay, but we can specialise it for a faction/mapspawn. |

Uh-huh. Is there a specific reason why it shouldn't replace the gygax's sprite? Aka, too much character, the gygax looks better as a 'generic' robot? Or there's already plans to replaec the gygax sprite? |
Well, because the gygax is currently a different sort of PA that will have a more power armor type sprite later on. |
Uhh. Sure, I'll make it a new type of mech in that case. Have mechs be able to chose if they have in-hand sprites or not If mechs could have a paintbrush tool to swap between the painted or greyscale variant that'd be best. |
What we can do, is copy and paste the gygax mech code, and just change the post-type, so it can be a "subtype" of a gygax that just has a different construction path and spriting/sounds. |
I'm not 100% sure the gygax's turbo function fits the sprite - I was hoping to give it an ability to slowly vault on top of tables or over sandbags as a special function instead of just going, but quicker. A bit like the 'BigDog' concept. Anywho, it just needs some code to make sure the gun pods are rendered properly when attached, when the mech is occupied or not and when detached/RnG destroyed. Or, we could lazymax and just.. have the gun pods as part of the mech's sprite for the time being. |

About The Pull Request
Adds a new exosuit called the mw112mdd! Originally was supposed to replace the Gygax's sprite, full credit to infrared baron on discord. Construction sprites are the original sprites but greyscale'd and random dots stuck on
WIP, because the new sprite relies on mechs having in-hand weapon sprites, and I have to find code for those otherwise the sprites won't really work, and other stuff.
Why It's Good For The Game
Looks better, probably. will have a a greyscale variant too if people prefer customization.
It's a big step away from SS13-style mechs, I don't know if this thing will actually fit in properly in-game.
