Waterfox G4 Flatpak Release
After a lot of work on my part, I've successfully ported Waterfox G4 into a flatpak for installation and desktop integration convenience of the end user. There are still some minor bugs with the final application, but I will try to fix those in due time. Waterfox Classic still isn't compiling properly, but that should have its own release coming sooner than later.
This has only been tested with Gnome 42.1 (x)Wayland on Ubuntu 22.04/Bedrock Linux 0.7.27
Known bugs
- Initial welcome page must be refreshed before it loads properly (upstream issue)
- Browser can't be set as system default
- Uses Gnome light theme for external windows despite system settings
- Automatic importing of bookmarks and other browser data may not work properly
I will publish a flatpak repository at some point unless I am able to get either the Waterfox team or Flathub to pick this project up. Either way I will probably end up maintaining it myself anyways. You can download the flatpak install file below for now.
