Release notes

This release solves an issue where running PatViz locally breaks the function of generating stand-alone versions of the tool. This was caused by browser security limitations for retrieving remote files when requesting from a file:/// address through JavaScript.

Release notes

This new release allows users to generate an (almost) self-contained HTML page of their visualization, which they can use to serve visualizations from their own home page (or harddisk).

The HTML file is not entirely stand-alone, as it relies on javascript and image resources residing on the PatViz Github.io website (http://data2semantics.github.io/PatViz). However, it does contain its own data: no data is stored by the maintainers of PatViz.

Other improvements:

• More generic loading of data
• More responsive resizing of map

More room for map, example datasets

This version makes more room for the map by moving all control buttons to a 'navbar'-style menu. We've also reduced the space needed for the "information" panel, and the legend is now available by clicking a button (it will be shown in a modal dialog).

Another addition is the availability of two example/demo datasets from USPTO and PatStat, both for CuInSe2

Removed legend, fixed bug

The previous release incorrectly loaded the same demo dataset from the menu. This has been fixed. Additionally, we have temporarily disabled the legend as it currently gives incorrect descriptions of the color codes.

Version with Demo buttons for loading preconfigured datasets from the server

This version extends v0.1a with the ability to add buttons that load example datasets directly from servers. These datasets are configurable and extensible by editing the demos JSON object in index.html

Initial version

This version of PatViz allows users to visualize their own data through a simple HTML5-based upload form. Internet connectivity is required, but otherwise opening the 'index.html' file in a HTML5 capable browser (any modern browser should do) will give the full functionality.
