Overview

  • DE is a distributed cyberinfrastructure service with a REST-ful API that handles data management, computation, metadata, and other capabilities. It's designed as a share-nothing loosely connected set of services
  • DE has a front end GUI that uses these REST API
  • DE is composed of dedicated software, as well as several open source components.
  • DE runs primarily as a substantial set of distributed Docker containers, orchestrated currently with Docker Compose and Ansible
