Bash scripts for setting up the environment in Ubuntu 18.04.5 Bionic Beaver
Order:
- Primary Setup
- Make changes to the Settings (settings/)
- Now change server in Softwares & Updates
- Run primary_setup.sh
- Continue to Step 2
- Windows connection
- Run windows/windows_1.sh
- Run lid_close_bug.sh, this will automatically Reboot.
- After restarting, Run windows/windows_2.sh
- Configure Rhythmbox
- Continue to Step 3
- Basic Tools
- Run git.sh and configure ssh key.
- Run basic_tools.sh
- Once terminator is installed, customize the Preferences
- Once Chrome is installed, sync the account and customize the settings.
- Once Opera is installed, get the bookmarks and customize the settings
- Reboot and move to Step 4
- Python
- Run python.sh
- Check each environment during Step 5.
- Add-ons
- Run addons.sh
- Check packages and update config.cson in Atom
- Install Extensions and update settings.json for VSCode
- While the large installs happen,
- Install and configure Workspace Matrix from Ubuntu Software
- Configure gnome-tweak-tool (gnome/)
- Configure dconf (dconf/)
- Configure the VPN
- Setup Microsoft Teams, Zoom, PDFsam, Telegram, Discord
- Reboot
- Configure the GPU driver settings.
Note: Run all bash scripts from the base directory of this repo.
