The workman layout has a workman-P variant where the top row numbers and symbols are swapped. 1 and !, 2 and @, 3 and #, etc. This lets you avoid shift+[keystroke] more often. I attempted to add it to the macOS section, but as I have zero idea what I'm doing, I was just pattern matching and winging it. Big surprise it didn't work (it doesn't show up in the key board preferences as an option).
If someone wants to take this and run with it, or tell me what to fix, or even what to read to learn to fix this, I'd love a colemak-dh layout with top row numbers and symbols swapped as an option.
