We don't actually care about the exact way the folder is derived but only that we got one. This avoids a test failure on MacOSX.
This is unused since 3cedbd0 (MIES_DAEphys.ipf: Remove yoking support, 2023-04-05).
The error should be really rare, but in case it bites us, it helps to have some more info. We also do use the direct functions are we want to avoid any potential for more asssertions.
