I was trying to play a video (it is the same for all ISO files in RAR) that was 80GB in RAR. To open the BD menu that Kodi shows it took almost 2 minutes and when I have selected the title I wanted to play it didn't even started. I was forced to kill Kodi.
I then unpacked the video to one big ISO file and when I now started to play it, it took 10 seconds for the BD menu to appear and after choosing the same title as when it was in RAR it now took less than 10 seconds for the video to start.
I also noticed that when it was in the RAR format (STORED of course) the maximum network speed was 80 mbit, but when starting the unpacked ISO file I could see the speed was much higher. I could see 160 mbit, twice as fast.
Something isn't right with this vfs.rar add-on. DVD's are not playing and now I can see similar issues with BD, but only when they are in RAR archives. RAR has always been playing perfect since I started using XBMC 2005 when I used it in my XBOX.
The log is too big to for pastebin, but i can always send it by email or attach it here.
