"relocate image" option for boards #853
Comments
Not sure I understand the request. How would you like it to work? |
Well, if I want to "switch" the current image to another file... |
up? |
You can import an image to a board. Is that what you mean? |
Let me explain: I could either
Those two options take too much time, the workflow is not good here. I would like a Board option that would say 'switch image' or something like this, and attach another file to it. Which also relies to #1244 |
Ok, this is very helpful. Definitely some workflow issues there. We've been talking about a "Paste Image without Board Data" command. You could duplicate Board A to a new Board B (duplicate includes most metadata), clear the layers, and then paste the image content. #977 We've also been talking about more options for where a board imports. So you could duplicate Board A to Board B (again, preserving metadata) and import in place (not creating a new board). #1214 Would either of those solutions work for your workflow? |
I think #977 is a must-have, but does not have the same purpose since it would copy the viewport image of a board; which is not the same than selecting an external image / relinking a file. IMO, #1214 is not a good idea. Importing an image is not the same than "relocating" an image, and should be kept for new shots - otherwise it would bring confusion (in a shop, importing marchandise is not the same than replacing marchandise) |
Hi,
Could you add an option to relocate (reload/replace) a board image ?
Thanks !
