<b>Speaker Bio</b>: Brian Granger is an Associate Professor of Physics and Data Science at Cal
Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. He is a leader of the
IPython project, co-founder of Project Jupyter and is an active
contributor to a number of other open source projects focused on data
science in Python. He is a board member of the NumFOCUS Foundation and
a faculty fellow of the Cal Poly Center for Innovation and
Entrepreneurship.

<b>Speaker Bio</b>: Fred is a Director of Data Insights Engineering at Flatiron Health. His work focuses on making cancer care better by using medical record data to understand patterns of disease, treatment and outcomes, making this information available to all parts of the cancer care ecosystem.
</p>
<p>
As CTO of E-marketing company CheetahMail, Fred built technology and team from very early startup through rapid growth and acquisition by Experian. Before discovering Linux and Open Source, he was Assistant Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Washington University. Fred received his MD and PhD in molecular microbiology from Umea University in Sweden.

<b>Speaker Bio</b>: James H. Faghmous is an Assistant Professor, and the co-founder and chief technology
officer of the Arnhold Global Health Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine -- Mount Sinai. James' work
bridges data science, engineering, population health, and design to create impactful and equitable global
health care systems.
</p>
<p>
James received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Minnesota, where his thesis at the
intersection of data mining and climate change received the "Outstanding Dissertation Award" in Science
and Engineered. James graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006 from the City of College of New York where he was a
Rhodes and a Gates Scholar nominee.
