Landsat	1972-Present	30m	16 days	Because only twice monthly visit, there are many gaps in data due to cloud cover. Would likely only work for yearly NDVI stats
MODIS	2000-Present	250-500m	1 day	Likely the best combo of frequency/resolution. But only goes back to 2000
AVHRR	1989-Present	1km	1 week	Best source for monthly data prior to MODIS
