Country England not in the list why?

I found that UK is listed as country and the countries like England and Scotland are not present in the json.
Is there a reason to? England is a country.

In most country lists England is not defined as a country. You can and will find it in country lists like the one from The international Soccer federation (FIFA). I believe the list created here is based on the 3166-1-list from ISO. There is a 3166-2 from ISO containing the countries that is defined in the United Kingdom (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-2:GB).
disclaimer: I am not the person behind this list, nor am I a member of the iso. I just happened to know something about the iso-standard, the FIFA-country codes and the IOC-country codes as I have been referring to those country codes quite a lot.
